Water Event Manager and Xactware® Solutions Compatibility: Providing Restoration Contractors with Single Point of Data Entry.

Water Event Manager is fully compatible with Xactimate® estimating software, allowing restoration contractors to enter their structural drying tasks, and component pricing only one time, either directly through WEM or through Xactimate®.

Direct Access through WEM

At the first site visit, contractors enter claims data directly into WEM, such as room dimensions, tasks, equipment used and moisture goal.  The pricing platform used by the contractor or insurance carrier is auto-populated upon user log-in. Thus, an accurate comparison of the invoice can be made by the software. The contractor enters data during or after each site visit, generating a drying log by visit report that captures the project tasks and equipment used for that job.

Upon job completion, an electronic invoice is automatically sent in the form of a cost evaluation report to the client (insurance carrier or representative) through Xactware® tools based upon the data. A drying log summary report is also generated, compiling all drying log by visit reports into a single account of the project scope. A project summary report combines the cost evaluation and drying log summary reports into a comprehensive report that compares pricing and project scope to industry standards.

Importing Data from Xactimate®

Mitigation contractors can also choose to enter claims pricing data through Xactimate®, which is then uploaded through XactNet® and imported electronically into WEM.  Contractors can then input their project scope and equipment into WEM, where all task and component pricing is already housed.  Therefore, if mitigation contractors currently use Xactimate® to price jobs, they can continue to follow the same process to generate scientific reports and accurate invoices. The same four reports as previously detailed are generated and can be sent to the client to verify their mitigation service.

Each mitigation claim completed is evaluated based on:

  • Structural Drying TasksAn estimating term describing what is to be done or was done to structural or contents items.  All tasks in an estimate make up the “Scope of Work”.
  • Drying Equipment UseTypes and numbers of drying equipment used at a drying project, as determined by affected area psychrometry and IICRC consensus standards.
  • Unit CostsMaterial and labor needed to complete tasks, expressed in units.
  • Targeted Project DurationTotal projected time to sufficiently dry the area affected by water intrusion.

Based on the data entered for these evaluation points, WEM generates reports that analyzes and compares the restoration service to program recommendations.

Sending Reports to Non-WEM Insurance Carriers

Contractors can still provide reports to insurance carriers who are not using Water Event Manager to validate their projects. After receiving the reports, they can simply create PDF versions and e-mail them directly to their clients so that they know their mitigation project has been completed in the most accurate and efficient manner.
